Dr. Charles Buchanan (Buck) Drew

Having grown up in St. Louis, MO, Buck Drew is a graduate of Colby College and Washington University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Drew moved from the midwest to Idaho in 1979.  The first ten years of his career were spent in Salmon, Idaho.  “My interest in living in Salmon centered around exploring the Beaverhead and Lemhi mountains, kicking dust with hardened cowboys, and sizing up rapids as a river guide.  The winters were full of skiing at Lost Trail Pass and flooding the new ice hockey rink.  This was a wonderful environment in which to raise my two children, Mark & Nicolle.” In 1989 Dr. Drew sold the Salmon practice and began a 15 year professional relationship with Chris Mazzola, DDS in Ketchum.  Mark enrolled in the Community School, one of the best prep schools in the country, while Nicolle thrived at school in Salmon with her mother.

Dr. Mazzola and Drew had an international clientele as well as a strong local base, focusing on cosmetic as well as family dentistry.  “We sold the business in 2005 and I embarked on a five year sabbatical.  I love dentistry and all the personal connections it affords, but the five years I was not routinely in an office allowed me to spend precious time with my mom, my children and now my grand-children.  Especially significant was the time I shared with Becky.  I have found the partner to spend a wonderful life with."

Now I am enjoying the best part of my career working with Dr. Hill at Wood River Dental and pursuing my many passions; travel, ice hockey, conservation work, mountain biking, Nordic and back country skiing,.   It is an honor to be employed with Wood River Dental Care, a practice where the patient comes  first, the technology is state-of- the-art, and the staff is professional and hard working.
